Rufas Tiya, an artist from Northern Kenya famous for songs like ‘Sololo Tiya’, ‘Ansidabu Infed’ among other popular Afaan Oromo songs has yet again sent internet into overdrive after she posted a short video of her in a recording studio.
The singer who hails from Sololo township in Marsabit County has gained a cult following in the Northern Kenya region over the past three years that she busted onto the local entertainment scene.
In the video which she posted on both TikTok and Facebook, she can be seen singing a new song which has never been heard before.
Understandably, she captioned the video; ‘Coming soon’ in caps, emphasizing the urgency with which she wants her fans to take note of the new sound.
From the words which our entertainment correspondents could make out of the short snippet, the song could be titled ‘Meh Kooti’, an Afaan Oromo phrase which loosely translated implies; ‘Come Here.’
Her loyal fans haven’t been left behind in voicing their opinion regarding Rufas Tiya’s yet-to-be-released song with many of them giving her a vote of approval.
A TikTok user who uses the handle @l.i.b.s.o.handy043 commented, “Lovely song ❤️🌹😍Loading……
Good work msanii..keep up👍🙏.”
Another one, a fashion vlogger of sorts even proposed herself as the would-be video vixen should she(Rufas Tiya) shoot a video of the song: @a.manan_fashion: “Video vixen here i come 🔥.”
@wariozka, another TikTok user commented, “Always like your song, can’t wait yaq💕❣️” while another, @cadebare quipped, “Very sweet🥰🥰 inshallahu will be listening a lot.”
The video which has since garnered over two hundred and seven thousand views(207.7K) views on TikTok alone in just a few days of its release also has over ten thousand likes.
The video was also shared over five hundred times and has been favourite-d by over a thousand users. More than two hundred have also commented with the majority of them voicing support for her new project.
Rufas Tiya had lost her main Youtube channel over a year ago and was forced to start over from scratch. Her new Youtube channel already has over one thousand six hundred subscribers(1600+).
Her most unique maiden project on the new channel, a song titled, ‘Olle Imbullu’ has already amassed over a hundred and thirty five thousand views(135K) even though she never shot an official video for the song.
It remains to be seen whether she will record a music video for her latest project which is what most of her ardent fans are looking forward to.
