The two DNA tests have determined that the body recently retrieved from Lake Yahud does not belong to Yusuf Hussein Ahmed, the Della Anole Ward Representative.
This confirmation was provided by his family on Thursday, who reported that pathologists verified the negative results.
The findings intensify the ongoing mystery surrounding Ahmed’s disappearance, which has persisted since September 13, when he was reportedly abducted in Nairobi by unidentified individuals.
The case involved two pathologists: one hired by the family and a government doctor.
They collected samples from Ahmed’s mother and two brothers, along with tissue from the body currently stored at Wajir Hospital Mortuary.
“The results show that the body is not his,” a family source stated.
The unidentified body, measuring six feet two inches tall, appears to be of Somali descent.
According to the pathologist, the body showed no signs of burning or mutilation; however, decomposition has resulted in visible damage to some areas.
The cause of death was identified as blunt force trauma to the face, which caused internal bleeding in the head.
Previous reports indicating that the MCA’s body had been found led to heightened tensions in Wajir, prompting local protests against security agencies in the region.
Additionally, the family disclosed to Arabia Media Network that Ahmed had been summoned by the Wajir County Security and Intelligence Committee (CSIC), chaired by County Commissioner Mr. Karuku Ngumo.
Mr. Ngumo has denied these claims, despite a letter allegedly signed by him on August 6, 2024, requesting the MCA’s attendance to discuss “issues touching on security.”
Yusuf Hussein Ahmed was abducted in Nairobi while traveling in a taxi.
The taxi driver, Mr. Wambua Kioko, reported that armed men emerged from two unmarked Toyota Land Cruiser Prados, blocked their path, and forcibly removed the politician from the vehicle.
The identity of the body at the mortuary remains unknown, leaving many questions unanswered in this troubling case.
