The 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams have commenced, with more than 900,000 students participating.
The examination period began on October 22, featuring oral and practical assessments for elective subjects.
On Monday, candidates will take the English Functional Skills paper in the morning, followed by Chemistry Paper 1 in the afternoon.
Tuesday’s schedule includes Mathematics Paper 1 in the morning and the English comprehension paper later in the afternoon.
Students will take Chemistry Paper 2 and English Paper 3 on Wednesday, during the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively.
Thursday’s focus will be on Kiswahili, with students sitting for Kiswahili Lugha (Paper 2) and Kiswahili Insha (Paper 1).
On Friday, candidates will engage in Chemistry practicals, which are designated as Paper 3.
On November 11, the exams will feature Mathematics Paper 2 and Kiswahili Fasihi (Paper 3).
The following day, November 12, students will complete the CRE/IRE/HRE Paper 1 and Biology Paper 1.
On November 13, candidates will tackle CRE/IRE/HRE Paper 2 and History Paper 1 in the afternoon session.
Biology Paper 2 and History Paper 2 are scheduled for November 14, while the next day will involve Biology practicals.
On November 18, students will take Geography Paper 1 in the morning and Physics Paper 1 in the evening.
The following day, November 19, will see candidates sit for Paper 1 in both Business Studies and Agriculture.
On November 20, Geography Paper 2 and Physics Paper 2 will be administered.
Finally, on November 21, students will complete Business Paper 2 and Agriculture Paper 2 in the afternoon.
According to the KNEC timetable for the 2024 KCSE examinations, the final day, November 22, will conclude with the Physics practical exam.
