The annual African Entertainment Awards USA has released its list of nominations for various award categories in the 2022 edition. Ethiopian entertainment industry has been lucky to get two nominations for a couple of its high-flying artists.
However, both of the artists have been nominated in the same category which means that they will not only be competing with other regional stars nominated in the category but also among themselves. This is because they will be sharing the loyalty of their local fanbase which puts them at a disadvantage.
Nevertheless, this isn’t to say that their chances are totally non-existent. One of the two could still bag the trophy if they engage in prope marketing. Ethiopia’s 100 million+ population may just be a reason that could give them an edge over their collective competitors if they manage to marshall the support of their countrymen and women.
