Fozia’s journey began three years ago under challenging circumstances. Speaking to OBN, she recounted how her son was just a year old when she decided to enter the trade.
With no extra income to afford a caregiver, she adapted ingeniously, keeping her son by her side. “I carried him around in the Bajaj,” she explained, “sleeping at the back while I ferried passengers around the city.”
For Fozia, driving has always been more than a livelihood—it’s a childhood dream. “I always wanted to be a driver,” she shared, adding that while she has yet to achieve her ultimate goal of driving a car, she remains hopeful and determined.
Despite the challenges, Fozia’s resilience has paid off. Her Bajaj business has made her self-reliant, enabling her to pay rent and provide sufficiently for herself and her son.
“This job has given me independence,” she said, expressing pride in her ability to support her family single-handedly.
Fozia’s aspirations don’t end with her current success. She dreams of saving enough money to purchase a car and expand her transportation business.
