Isiolo, Kenya| The Isiolo community is in deep mourning following the death of veteran elder and community leader Mohamed Mudale, popularly known as Mzee Biskili.
He passed away after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of service, unity, and cultural preservation.
Mzee Biskili served as the President of the Jima community in Isiolo. He also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Borana Council of Elders (BCE).
In both roles, he earned widespread respect for his leadership, commitment to peacebuilding, and dedication to cultural unity.
Leaders, elders, and residents from Isiolo and neighbouring counties have continued to pay heartfelt tributes. They describe him as a humble, wise, truthful, and devoted leader.
Many recall how he worked tirelessly to promote harmony and unity within the Borana community and beyond.
Throughout his years of public service, Mzee Biskili played a key role in conflict resolution and community dialogue.
He was especially active on matters affecting the welfare and cohesion of his people.
His ability to mediate disputes and bring rivals to the same table made him a pillar of stability in the region.

His death is widely seen as a major loss to both the Jima community and the wider Borana leadership structure.
Elders who worked closely with him say his absence will leave a void that will be difficult to fill.
The late Mzee Mohamed Mudale’s Janazah prayers and burial ceremony will be held tomorrow, Saturday, at Tullu Roba Cemetery in Isiolo.
According to family announcements, the Janazah prayers will begin at 7:00 am. The burial will follow shortly after at 7:30 am, In sha Allah.
As Isiolo prepares to lay its respected elder to rest, the outpouring of grief reflects the deep impact he had on countless lives.
His name will be remembered for generations as a symbol of wisdom, truth, and peaceful coexistence.
