Mogadishu, Somalia| President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia held an inspirational meeting with renowned Somali content creator Assad Haggio, commending him for his resilience and unwavering commitment to the country’s development despite personal hardships.

During the meeting, President Mohamud acknowledged Haggio’s courage in overcoming the devastating effects of terrorism.

Haggio, who survived a brutal Al-Shabaab attack decades ago that left him disabled, has since become a symbol of perseverance and national pride.

“Assad was not discouraged by the terrorist attack that sought to end his life. Instead, he turned his suffering into strength and returned to his homeland with a vision for its progress. His determination and patriotism serve as an example for all Somali citizens,” the President stated.

Haggio, known for his impactful digital content that inspires and educates the Somali people, has used his platform to advocate for peace, resilience, and national unity.

His story is one of triumph over adversity, embodying the spirit of a nation striving for stability and growth.

Following the meeting, the Director General of the National Presidency, Mr. Abdihakim Mohamed Yusuf, honored Haggio with the Somali Endurance Medal—an award reserved for citizens who display exceptional courage, patience, and service to society.
