•Governor Abdi Guyo has pushed for Isiolo County’s development in high-level meeting with Deputy President Kindiki
Isiolo County Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo, accompanied by Women Representative Mumina Bonaya, met with Deputy President H.E. Kithure Kindiki at his official residence in Karen this morning.
The high-level meeting focused on development priorities aimed at transforming Isiolo County.
During the meeting, Governor Guyo outlined a series of pressing initiatives crucial to the county’s growth and sustainability.
Among these was the operationalization of Oldonyiro Sub-County, a process the governor urged to be fast-tracked before the end of the year, pending the appointment of a new Internal Security Cabinet Secretary.
The governor also highlighted the urgency of completing ongoing road projects within Isiolo’s Central Business District, proposing an additional 10 kilometers of road extension.
This, he emphasized, would enhance connectivity, boost local economic growth, and improve accessibility across the region.
Addressing security concerns, Governor Guyo called for the recruitment of National Police Reservists (NPR) to strengthen community security in the county.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of improving power infrastructure in underserved areas and enhancing network connectivity in remote regions such as Daaba and Iresaboru.
These measures, he noted, would improve communication and foster economic inclusivity.
Governor Guyo and Ms. Bonaya also congratulated the Deputy President on his recent appointment, expressing optimism about close collaboration to advance these initiatives.
“We look forward to working hand-in-hand with the national government to ensure these development goals are realized for the benefit of the people of Isiolo,” said Governor Guyo.
The meeting underscores the county’s commitment to aligning its development agenda with the national government’s vision, paving the way for a brighter future for Isiolo residents.
