Over 50 Mps Hold Night Meeting as Rigathi’s Impeachment Motion Set to be Tabled Next Week


It is indeed tough times for the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who is now set to navigate a tough terrain.

A motion aimed at impeaching him is now in the national assembly, set to be tabled earlier next week. It’s up to the deputy president to prepare a strong legal team for him to counter his opponents.

It is said that over 50 MPs drawn from ODM, Wiper, and UDA met last night to discuss the impeachment motion. This faction of MPs who met are all in solidarity with the deputy president.

According to insider reports, most members of parliament in the national assembly are now in a dilemma, not knowing whether to vote for their opponent or defend him.

The impeachment motion is allegedly said to be at the desk of top Kenya Kwanza leadership, who are set to table it anytime next week. The deputy president is indeed in trouble.

According to the constitution, for the deputy president to be impeached, their must be atleast 2/3 of the MPs voting to upheld the impeachment motion, the one million dollar question lingering in everyone’s mind, does Rigathi have enough numbers?
