Nairobi, Kenya| Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has released KCSE results on this day of Friday 20th January 2023 at Nairobi.
The exam marking process which commenced on January 2, 2023 has been marred by hiccups.

This is after a section of teachers at one centre downed their tools citing unfavourable working conditions and poor pay.
The examiners of Christian Religious Education (CRE) Paper One at St Francis Girls in Mang’u threatened to delay release of the exam results.

Marking, however, resumed following intervention from senior Ministry officials. The CS had earlier threatened disciplinary actions on the revolting teachers.

Unlike previous years, It is expected that the Ministry will not rank schools or students as was the case during release of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results in December.

In previous years, all students who scored C plus and above were eligible to apply for degree programmes which was fully sponsored by the government.
However, it is believed that this may not be the case with President William Ruto’s proposal to review university funding.

Parents may now have to dig deeper into their pocket to see their children through college should the government decide to end funding for the higher education.
