Nairobi, Kenya|President William Ruto has expressed hope that Kenya and Qatar will start collaborating on deepening the ties between the two countries for the benefit of the people of both nations.
The president met with Qatar’s ambassador to Kenya at State House where they held talks on areas of education, technology transfer and trade.
The Government is exploring new areas to expand trade with Qatar.
President William Samoei Ruto said: “Kenya is keen to explore new avenues in its partnership with Qatar.”
Kenya and Qatar are strong partners on trade, transport, tourism and agriculture.
The President said Kenya and Qatar also have co-operation agreement in education, scientific research, technology and the aviation industry.
However, he added, the two countries are keen to enter into a partnership in fresh produce and oil sectors.
The President made the remarks during a meeting with Qatar Ambassador to Kenya Jabor bin Ali Al-Dosari at State House, Nairobi.
