Isiolo County Secretary Dathe Boru has come out strongly in defence of Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan(Guyo)’s development record.
CS Boru spotlighted key achievements in education, healthcare, water access, infrastructure, and community empowerment across the county.
The CS spoke during an empowerment programme led by Isiolo Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya in Chari Ward.
He said the county government has prioritised early childhood education by employing ECD teachers and building ECD classrooms in all wards.
He also pointed to major progress in the health sector. The county has equipped Garbatulla Hospital and Isiolo County Referral Hospital with modern medical facilities to strengthen service delivery.
In addition, he noted improved access to clean water as a key win for residents.
On infrastructure, the county secretary cited ongoing road improvements and other development projects.
These efforts aim to enhance connectivity and support economic growth across the county.
At the same event, Mr Boru dismissed criticism from opposition leaders who claim the county has no development agenda.
He accused them of ignoring ongoing projects and focusing instead on negative narratives.
The empowerment event also saw practical support extended to local groups.
Mr Boru represented Governor Guyo at the function, reinforcing the county’s commitment to grassroots economic empowerment.
At the event, Mumina Bonaya disbursed KSh 6.2 million to support 16 youth and women groups in Chari.
Each group received KSh 100,000. Governor Guyo added another KSh 50,000 per group to facilitate the formation of Village Savings and Loan Associations.
These VSLAs are designed to strengthen financial resilience at the grassroots level and promote sustainable livelihoods across the ward.
