The County Assembly of Isiolo has officially confirmed that Abdullahi Jaldesa Banticha remains the lawful Speaker.
This follows a decisive court ruling delivered on May 5, 2026. The judgment ends months of legal battles over the leadership of the assembly.
According to an internal memo from the Clerk to the County Assembly, the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nairobi settled the dispute once and for all.

The memo references earlier court orders issued on July 15, 2025. Those orders stemmed from a case filed by Banticha against the Attorney General and other respondents.

In its decision, the court conclusively stated that Banticha was legally gazetted as Speaker.
