Isiolo County First Lady, Habiba Guyo, has earned special recognition at the Muslim Women Awards Kenya 2026.
She was honored for her outstanding leadership and dedicated service to vulnerable communities across the region.
The award highlights her impactful work through the Mama Hassan Foundation.
This nonprofit organization continues to expand access to essential services throughout Isiolo County.
The foundation leads healthcare outreach, social assistance, and community based programs targeting women, children, and the elderly in underserved areas.
Her efforts have greatly improved local livelihoods. She has also strengthened community support systems, especially among marginalized populations within the county.
Two Slots for Isiolo County
Two prominent Isiolo trailblazers received honors at the national awards.
They are Her Excellency Habiba Galgalo Guyo and Dr. Zeinab Gura. Both were celebrated for their leadership in community care and health systems.
Their work focuses on expanding access to essential services, strengthening healthcare delivery, and advancing support for vulnerable communities across Kenya.
This dual recognition highlights Isiolo County’s growing influence in public service, health innovation, and grassroots development initiatives.
It also reflects the rising impact of women leaders in shaping equitable development and improved service delivery.
First Lady Habiba Guyo has been at the forefront of promoting health services among vulnerable and underserved communities in Isiolo County.
Her work aligns closely with the administration of Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan Guyo, which is revolutionizing health services across the county.
In her capacity as the First Lady, Habiba Guyo has used her newly founded not for profit organization, the Mama Hassan Foundation, to conduct over a dozen free medical camps in various wards across the county.
These camps serve people who would otherwise have no way to seek medical help.
Attendees are screened for a range of ailments including cancer, diabetes, cataract, and trachoma, among others.
Treatment is provided on the spot at no cost, allowing many residents to benefit tremendously.
This hands on approach continues to transform lives and build a healthier future for Isiolo County.
