The event, held with the aim of combating the rising drug abuse among Isiolo’s youth, concluded with electrifying final matches that captivated the local community.

The tournament served as more than just a sporting event; it was a beacon of hope and a powerful platform for talent development, youth engagement, and the promotion of a drug-free society.

Bonaya, a staunch advocate for youth empowerment, led the closing ceremony, where she awarded the victorious team a grand prize of Ksh 100,000 alongside a prestigious trophy.

The runners-up and third-place teams received Ksh 50,000 and Ksh 25,000, respectively, in recognition of their commendable performances.

Individual players who displayed exceptional skills were also honored, further highlighting the tournament’s role in nurturing young sporting talent.

Grevy Zebra FC from Ngaremara emerged as the tournament champions, earning widespread applause for their stellar performance.

Bilbao FC from Bulapesa secured second place, while Mwangaza FC from Wabera Ward clinched third, with both teams demonstrating remarkable resilience and skill throughout the competition.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the initiative received widespread praise from participants, local leaders, and residents, who commended Bonaya’s relentless efforts in tackling the drug menace.

Her instrumental role in establishing a NACADA office in Isiolo has been a game-changer, with the football initiative serving as a proactive measure to steer young people away from the perils of substance abuse.

By keeping youth actively engaged in sports, the tournament effectively reduced idleness, significantly curbing their vulnerability to drug influence.

In her speech, Bonaya reiterated her dedication to sustaining such transformative initiatives.

She emphasized that sports are not only a powerful tool for rehabilitation but also a means of fostering discipline, teamwork, and personal development among young people.

She vowed to continue championing programs that uplift and protect Isiolo’s youth, ensuring they have access to constructive opportunities that pave the way for a brighter future.
