In a demonstration of solidarity with the Muslim community during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Absa Bank Kenya, through its Absa LaRiba Banking division, hosted a special Iftar dinner for a segment of its customers and stakeholders in Nairobi.

The event, held last evening, was a key component of the bank’s ongoing Ramadan activities, emphasizing its commitment to fostering inclusivity, community engagement, and ethical banking practices.

The Iftar dinner provided an opportunity for Absa to strengthen relationships with its LaRiba Banking customers while reaffirming its dedication to offering financial solutions that align with Islamic principles.

The gathering was attended by key stakeholders, religious leaders, and business partners who have embraced Absa’s Shariah-compliant banking services.

Speaking at the event, Absa Kenya’s Chief Finance Officer, Yusuf Omari, underscored the bank’s commitment to ethical banking and social responsibility.

“At Absa, we recognize the significance of Ramadan as a time of reflection, community, and generosity.” Omari stated.

“Through LaRiba Banking, we remain dedicated to providing financial solutions that respect and uphold Islamic values, ensuring that our Muslim customers have access to banking services that align with their faith,” he added.

Beyond the Iftar dinner, Absa’s LaRiba Banking team, in collaboration with the Absa Kenya Foundation, has been actively engaged in various community initiatives throughout Ramadan.

These efforts include charitable activities, financial literacy programs, and support for underprivileged communities, further reinforcing the bank’s role as a socially responsible financial institution.
