As the holy month of Ramadan begins, residents of Isiolo have urged the Muslim community to extend support to the less fortunate, emphasizing the essence of charity and compassion during this sacred period.
The call to action was made during a peace walk organized to raise funds and food supplies for 2,000 orphans in the region.
The initiative, led by the Isiolo Muslim Aid Network (IMAN), brought together religious leaders, local officials, and community members in a collective effort to ensure vulnerable children receive Iftar meals throughout Ramadan.
Representatives Fardhowsa Daud and Nur Sheikh highlighted the critical role of unity and shared responsibility in addressing food insecurity among orphans.
They stressed that Ramadan offers an opportunity for Muslims to practice generosity by supporting those in need.
Addressing participants at the event, Chari Ward MCA, Major Golicha, called on fellow leaders to actively participate in charitable activities, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach to uplift the underprivileged.
He urged the political and religious leadership to foster a culture of generosity and unity, reinforcing the moral duty to care for the less fortunate.
