Nairobi, Kenya| Authorities have arrested a Kenyan woman, Melvin Owuor, in connection with the tragic death of her four-year-old son, who allegedly succumbed to injuries inflicted by his own mother.

On December 9, 2024, Melvin and her friend transported the lifeless body of the child to Mama Lucy Hospital Mortuary in Nairobi.
However, after being instructed by mortuary officials to report the incident to the police, the two women failed to return and subsequently switched off their mobile phones, raising suspicion.
Their abrupt disappearance prompted the mortuary staff to alert authorities at Mowlem Police Station, leading to an immediate probe by detectives from Dandora and crime specialists from the Nairobi area.

Upon launching their inquiry, detectives discovered inconsistencies in Melvin’s initial account of the events. She had claimed that the child passed away in his sleep.
