Guyo Stands Firm on Development Record, Urges Voters to Reject Tribal Politics

Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan, popularly known as Guyo, has made a bold call for issue based politics as he defends his administration’s development record.

Speaking to a gathering in Cherab Ward, the governor urged residents to judge leaders by their performance rather than political party or community ties.

He argued that voters are increasingly tired of ethnic divisions and empty rhetoric. What people truly want, he said, are leaders who deliver tangible results on the ground.

Governor Guyo challenged his political opponents to shift their campaigns toward ideas and development agendas.

He insisted that narratives centered on who belongs to which political camp or ethnic group no longer serve the people of Isiolo.

Instead, he called for mature political competition rooted in service delivery and accountability. The governor’s remarks come at a time when county politics is heating up ahead of the next General Election.

Reaffirming his commitment to the promises he made to Isiolo residents, Guyo pledged to continue improving service delivery across all wards. He assured the public that his administration will not be distracted by political sideshows.

His focus, he said, remains on completing ongoing projects and launching new initiatives that directly benefit families, farmers, traders, and young people.

In a major revelation, Governor Guyo disclosed that President William Ruto has given firm assurances regarding key administrative changes in the county.

According to the governor, the President confirmed that Kinna and Ngaremara will be elevated to sub county status before the next General Election.

Additionally, Bassa Division will be established to bring government services closer to the people. These changes are expected to reduce the distance residents must travel for essential services such as registration, licensing, and security administration.

Beyond infrastructure and administration, Governor Guyo is also making strides in education. During the same event, he launched a program to distribute learning materials to Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres across Isiolo County.

The initiative aims to strengthen early childhood education and improve learning outcomes for thousands of young learners. By investing in foundational education, the governor hopes to give every child in Isiolo a fair start in life.

Governor Guyo’s message is clear: development over division, performance over propaganda, and service over political grandstanding.

As the next election draws closer, he wants Isiolo residents to remember who kept their promises and who simply played politics. For a county eager to grow, that may be the only campaign message that truly matters.
