Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo has confirmed the safe recovery of Mr. Ali Godana, the Acting Director of Revenue Services for Isiolo County, who was abducted from his home earlier this week under mysterious circumstances.

Governor Guyo made the announcement in an official update, stating that Mr. Godana is currently receiving a full medical evaluation to determine his health status before being reunited with his family.

“This news comes as a great relief to his loved ones, colleagues, and the wider Isiolo community, who have remained anxious and hopeful throughout his disappearance,” Governor Guyo stated.

He extended deep gratitude to residents, community leaders, civil society organizations, and friends across the country who offered prayers, support, and solidarity during the ordeal.

The sudden disappearance of Mr. Godana had sparked widespread concern across the county, with growing demands for answers from authorities and reassurance over public safety.

His recovery, though welcome, has not erased the anxiety still gripping parts of the community, especially in light of another unresolved disappearance.

Governor Guyo expressed renewed concern over the case of Mr. Abdullahi Bosso, a resident of Kinna in Isiolo County, who remains missing.

His unexplained disappearance continues to raise alarms and has added to calls for accountability and action from national security agencies.

“We urge security agencies to clarify his whereabouts without delay. If he is in custody, he should be released or presented before a court of law,” the governor asserted.

“This must be done in strict adherence to the Constitution and the principles of due process. The public deserves full transparency, accountability, and justice.”

Governor Guyo further appealed to all stakeholders, including residents, leaders, and security authorities, to remain calm and committed to peace, even as the search for answers continues.

“Let us continue to stand united in safeguarding the rule of law, truth, justice, and the dignity of every individual,” he said.

The two disappearances—one resolved, the other pending—have reignited regional and national debates over enforced disappearances, the role of security agencies, and the need for stronger institutional oversight to prevent abuses of power.

Human rights groups have also begun pressing for independent investigations into both cases to ensure justice is served and prevent impunity.

While the safe return of Mr. Godana provides some measure of comfort, the community’s relief is tempered by the lingering uncertainty surrounding Mr. Bosso.

As investigations proceed, residents of Isiolo and the broader public continue to demand answers, justice, and firm assurances that such incidents will not be allowed to happen again.
