DJ Subeer(Official names: Zuhir Hersi) is the first non-singing entertainer to be nominated to the prestigious award. He sits comfortably among key African entertainers, none of which are from East Africa which we believe eliminates local competition and puts him at a better position to lift the trophy.
DJ Subeer is not only a major player in the Somali entertainment industry but is a also an aggressive enterpreneur who has invested and has interest accross various sectors of the economy ranging from real estate, tourism and textiles just to mention but a few.
He is also credited for assisting top Somali artists in penetrating the lucrative diaspora market. Kiin Jamaac and Suldaan Seraar are just some of the industry’s bug names who are associated with the superstar deejay.
Aside from his many engagements and businesses, DJ Subeer is also a philanthropist and has in the past undertaken major causes such as food distribution in drought-stricken areas of Somalia among other social projects as a way of giving back to the community.
