Garbatulla, Isiolo County| In a powerful demonstration of commitment to community welfare, Habiba Guyo, affectionately known as Mama Hassan and the First Lady of Isiolo County, has spearheaded a comprehensive free medical and surgical outreach camp at Garbatulla Hospital.
Scheduled from December 18 to 23, 2025, this initiative brings essential healthcare services directly to residents, particularly those facing barriers to specialized treatment.
Mama Hassan, wife of Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo, has long been a champion for improved healthcare access in the region.
Through the Mama Hassan Foundation and partnerships like this one with the MSAUN-KNH Chapter (Muslim Students Association of the University of Nairobi – Kenyatta National Hospital Chapter), she continues to bridge gaps in medical services for underserved populations.
This camp builds on her previous efforts, including cancer screening programs and other outreaches that have touched thousands of lives in Isiolo County.
The six-day event, running from early morning each day, is entirely free of charge, ensuring no financial burden on attendees.
Qualified specialists will provide assessments and treatments, focusing on both preventive care and interventions for chronic conditions.
Comprehensive Services Offered
The camp caters to all age groups – children, women, men, and the elderly – addressing a wide array of medical and surgical needs.
For medical conditions, specialists will manage high blood pressure (hypertension), provide diabetes care, treat respiratory issues including chest and breathing problems, handle gastrointestinal illnesses, address joint pains and musculoskeletal disorders, as well as other chronic or long-standing medical conditions.
On the surgical side, patients will receive assessments and interventions for hernias, goitre (thyroid enlargement), lumps, swellings, and benign tumors, chronic wounds, abscesses, painful growths, haemorrhoids (piles), benign prostate conditions, orthopedic complications, and other conditions requiring surgical attention.
All patients will receive thorough evaluations by experienced specialists, with on-site management where possible.
A Call to Action: Prioritize Your Health
Community members are urged not to delay seeking care. “If you or a loved one has been enduring pain, discomfort, or a lingering condition, this is your opportunity for professional assessment and relief,” the announcement emphasizes. Early arrival is recommended to ensure timely attention.
This outreach exemplifies collaborative efforts to enhance healthcare equity in Isiolo, a region where access to specialized services can be limited due to geographic and economic challenges.
Mama Hassan’s dedication highlights the impact of compassionate leadership. Residents are encouraged to spread the word, bring those in need, and attend Garbatulla Hospital from December 18-23.
Your health matters – take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.
