Nasra Beiby and Sakina Vybz are Embroiled in a Nasty Beef: Here is What we Know

author

Background
Nasra Beiby and Sakina Vybz are Oromo artists from Isiolo and Marsabit County respectively.

Both have a considerable level of success in the still nascent Northern Kenya entertainment industry.

Up until recent times, no reel beef between local artists have been witnessed. This is because in the past few years, competition hasn’t really been intense.

However, that seems to be quickly changing as the local industry picks up steam even as more artists keep emerging.

Both Sakina and Nasra are well known for their bold and outspoken personas and the clash of the two is sure going to cause an ‘earthquake’ and it has been nothing short of that.

Without a doubt, the medium of this type of exchange can most likely only be TikTok where both artists have more than a hundred thousand followers, figures which can only be attained locally by celebrities like them.

How it happened
The issue started when Nasra Beiby uploaded a short video on her tiktok account back in May urging ladies not to be misled into thinking that a good woman ‘must possess a large backside’ or that ‘she has to be plump/fat/thick’.

She also warned women against being duped into bleaching their skins to get fairer skin.

She concluded the video by stating that ‘a good woman is a woman who has good morals’.

Now, to understand how singer Sakina Vybz comes into the picture, you have to understand her business which she has been aggressively marketing on her tiktok account.

Sakina has branded beauty products and pills which have been quite controversial to say the least. She has battled criticisms from various sectors.

One of the most intense of those criticism was from a tiktoker who is based overseas which ultimately led to her losing her first tiktok account that had nearly 300 thousand followers.

Undeterred, she started another one and has been on overdrive marketing her products to huge success.

Seeing that Nasra’s message was directed at her business, Sakina also put out a video wondering why ‘people were provoking her for no reason’.

She(Sakina) further promised that ‘those looking for her will surely find her’ as ‘she is ready for anyone at any time.’

Nasra Beiby replies to this with another video and the to-and-fros of the videos between the two artists continue as both of their fans encourage them on even as they vilify their rival artists’ fans.

What you need to understand at this point is that while putting out these videos, none of these artists actually mention their subject’s name.

However, it isn’t hard to figure out that both of them are targeting each other.

Even further, TikTok detects what the videos are about and you can see in the search bar of the respective videos the automatic search keywords showing what the videos are about. One of the messages read ‘Nasra Beiby and Sakina Vybz Live last night.’

Now, while both artists usually go live several times during the day and night, we couldn’t establish if they had, indeed, engage in a live tiktok battle.

As of the time of publishing this article, the beef is still not quashed and we may update this piece with further information if and/or when a new information suffices.

The messages that our team sent out to both artists seeking clarification about the beef have not been responded to as of the time of publishing this piece.

We shall immediately update any further info should we get a response from.either of the artists.

Note: The excerpts of the utterances by both artists were translated from the local kiborana dialect and it might slightly differ in meaning or implication in some cases and we ask you to bear with us as we keep improving our output every other day.
