Oromo-Somali artist Sakina Vybz headlined a major Somali concert in Nairobi on the 16th of February.
The concert happened at the rooftop of the newly-opened BBS Mall and featured dozens of artists, most of them being Somali artists.
Sakina, who hails from Marsabit County, has amassed considerable following from lovers of Somali music which is why it is no surprise that she was picked to headline the show.
She achieved this fete by recording covers and mash-ups of popular somali songs, some of which have gone on to garner millions of views on Youtube.
At the concert, she performed some of her fan favourites such as War Hadadan Tumeyn(Qub Ebatif ka Abarsa), Gurba Borana among others.
This would be her first time to perform some of these songs live for her fans and she made sure that the revellers, who were present in their hundreds, loved every minute of it.
Her fans danced their shoes off as they sang along to her magnificently choreographed performances.
Some, moved by the heat of the moment, and seeing their favourite celebrity performing right in front of them, could not help themselves but hop on to the stage to take selfies with her, much to the anxiety of her hawk-eyed security detail who had a hard time controlling fans.
Other artists who performed at the concert were among others Hassan Gantal, a top collaborator with Sakina Vybz on a number of songs, and Salaax Sanaag, just to mention but a few.
