Hargeisa, Somaliland| Mss World, a tiktoker from Mogadishu, Somalia whose real name is Najma has been arrested in the capital of Somaliland.
This would be her second arrest in that country this year after she faced a similar fate earlier where she was deported back to Somalia by the immigration authorities of Somaliland regional state.
The brazen socialite is no stranger to controversies as she is often the subject of trends in Somalia and beyond because of her outspoken lifestyle and demeanor.
According to sources, Najma was on a trip to Somaliland when the authorities got wind of her presence and executed her arrest in no time. The socialite has been accused of “bad-mouthing” the regional state in the past and has since then been made a “persona non grata” in the state. Some of the reasons why she was arrested stem from her sentiments to “not recognize” Somaliland state as an autonomous independent state but a part of the larger Somalia republic.
This being the second time she is being arrested in the state where her presence has been deemed “illegal”, it’s not clear what actions the authorities intend to take this time around. However, a source with a deeper knowledge of the issue says she will be released and deported back to Somalia tomorrow.
The netizens in Somalia have condemned her arrest and asked what crime she committed warranting her to be incarcerated.
An online petition has been started at Change.org calling for her release. Mss World also known as Boqorada Aduunka is among the top club members of the Somali tiktok community and has over one million tiktok followers and more than 150000 Youtube subscribers.
