Isiolo: County Government Distributes Aid to Affected Bulapesa Residents


Officials from Isiolo County government have this afternoon disbursed food aid to residents affected by the heavy rains which fell in the area in recent days.

The officials were led by CPA Hassan A Dawa, who is the Chief officer special programs in the distribution which targeted about 700 households in Bulapesa ward.

A variety of foodstuffs which includes rice, maize flour and cooking oil were handed over to the local grassroots officials(subareas) under the supervision of the area ward administrator.

The foodstuffs are part of the consignment which was recently flagged off by the area governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo for distribution to the over the 10000 households affected by floods across the entire county.

It is estimated that each household will get 6 Kg of rice and maize flour in addition to a litre of cooking oil. While receiving the foodstuffs, the local officials maintained that the food will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the populace who have been affected by the heavy rains.

While supervising the distribution, Mr. Dawa reiterated Isiolo county government’s commitment to ensure that aid ‘reaches the affected residents in time to mitigate the situation’ adding that further steps will be taken to ensure that residents will not be affected.
