Isiolo County comedian Hussein Yussuf alias Bahali Yake has called on the general public to come to the aid of Mrs. Makay Ali who is undergoing a cancer treatment. The comedian, in a TikTok video implored the public to support the immensely suffering mother of eight while sobbing uncontrollably.
The heart-wrenching story of Makay Ali hit local headlines recently following a report compiled by local radio personality abdi. In the video which has since gone viral, abdi is seen in a shack surrounded by Mrs. Makay’s immediate family members. Her husband, who is mentally handicapped, and their eight children.
Makay was diagnosed with breast cancer for which she has since undergone mastectomy for the affected breast. She says that she was her family’s bread winner before the unfortunate illness committed her to bed-ridden status leaving her a destitute unable to feed her family.

Mrs. Makay’s story was initially brought into the limelight by former Angaaf Radio Swahili morning presenter Ahmedkheir Abdi via a video posted online under the banner of Nomad Times where he interviews the woman in her home alongside her kids, one of whom appealed for help for her mother as can be seen in the video as posted below.
ICBNews caught up with Ahmedkheir a couple of days ago where we sought to know whether the lady had gotten any assistance to which he responded that a “few calls” had been made but nothing much of substance has sufficed yet.
He emphasized that her issue needs to be taken seriously in order to get her the support she desperately needs, if not for her, at least for her children, who are visibly suffering as their only breadwinner is now a bed-ridden destitute.
