Maki Oro, A popular TikTok star based in Ethiopia has raised an alarm over the continued incarceration of Ethiopians, most of whom are believed to be of Oromo descent, in Saudi Arabia.

In a video seen and verified by ICBNews, Oro implored Ethiopian authorities to intervene and rescue the migrants who she said we’re undergoing suffering due to the unapologetic climate in Saudi Arabia.

She especially mentioned the Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed to intervene and ensure that the ‘people get back home’.

Oro, who has over a half a million followers on TikTok said some of the migrants are women who are expectant and are living under harsh conditions in Saudi Arabia.

She further asserted that a number of the migrants are already sick and have no one attending to them. She stressed that the most important task for the community is that these people get back home and tasked the authorities and other persons of influence to intervene and end the suffering of the concerned people.

It is not clear if the authorities have heeded her call as a query by ICBNews regarding the matter has not been responded to by the concerned authorities as of the time of publishing this article.
