Dukem, Ethiopia| The story of Fozia Ahmed has gripped the hearts and minds of Ethiopians and across the border since OBN television featured her. It is not often common to find a Hijabi from this side to ply trade in the Bajaj transport sector.
Fozia told OBN that her son was only one year old when she started plying the Bajaj trade. She has been in the trade for close to three years now.
Having no extra income to hire a caregiver to her suckling kid, she sought to carry him around sleeping at the back of her vehicle as she ferried customers around the city.
Fozia told OBN television that her childhood dream was being a driver and despite not getting there yet, she is holding out dreams that she will soon achieve it.
She says that the business her since made her self-reliant and that she pays her rent and provides for her needs and those of her kid sufficiently.
Fozia hopes that she will soon save enough money to afford a car and continue with her transportation business.
